A well-designed landing page on your website can significantly impact your conversion rate.

Itโ€™s usually designed for a specific purpose and motivates visitors to take action.

Maybe you want people to sign up for your newsletter. Or you want visitors to register, pre-order something, or attend an event.

Especially if your website is designed to have multiple offers, a landing page can help direct users in a very targeted way.

Whatever you want to achieve with your landing page, it should be designed for that exact action.

To achieve this, youโ€™ll need also all the necessary resources. Many try page builders for this and have difficulties finding the optimal tool with the right features that is also cost-effective.

But did you know that you creating high-quality landing pages in WordPress is not only possible, but also requires little effort? There are several options open to you, which weโ€™ve taken a closer look at so you donโ€™t have to.

Page Builders or WordPress for the Perfect Landing Page?

With a landing page builder software you can create effective landing pages that will finally increase your conversion rate.

Since most landing page builders give you the choice of various templates, you can test different versions of a page. This way, youโ€™ll definitely find the best results for you and can optimally increase your conversions.

But there are many options to choose from when it comes to finding the perfect software. To choose a suitable landing page builder, you should pay attention to a few criteria.

  • Usability: How hard or easy is it for me to set up, and can I create some good-looking pages in a few minutes?
  • Features: Can I collect leads? Can I get analytics for my pages? Can I integrate them with my CRM?
  • Price: How much does a monthly plan cost? Will I have to upgrade my plan every few months?

Regardless of your industry, budget, and goals, you can find a list of well-known landing page builders that are popular for their functionalities among the general public.

  1. Unbounce

Unbounce was one of the first landing page builder softwares on the market and is still one of the most popular solutions.

The software is perfect for optimizing performance marketing campaigns, creating โ€œComing Soonโ€ pages, capturing emails, and describing the hard-to-explain elements of your product.

Also, Unbounce is regurly adding new features. Recently, for example, Unbounce introduced a conversion intelligence suite. It uses AI to shape landing pages. This is to make your ad spend more impactful.

The software is characterized by great page speed, low error-proneness, and innovation.

However, these services also come at a price. Unbounce is not necessarily cheap and if you want to use all the features, you have to pay even more than the standard price.

Also, the user interface could be easier to navigate, which makes the software not exactly beginner-friendly.

2. Leadpages

With Leadpages, you can create impressive opt-in campaigns that capture leads, convert customers, and easily integrate them all into your digital marketing tools.

Plus, you can tune your campaigns for maximum impact by testing multiple versions side-by-side.

Like Unbounce, you use Leadpages to create landing pages, pop-ups, alert bars, and checkout flows. You have over 160 ready-to-use templates and an unlimited number of responsive pages at your disposal.

Leadpages is also convincing in terms of price, as it is cheaper than some of its competitors, and yet rich in features.

However, the software is criticized for its lack of customization options, its slow drag-and-drop builder, and limited form options.

The quality of the templates and the limited A/B testing options in the standard plan can also become an annoying problem.

3. ClickFunnels

ClickFunnels is not just a landing page software. Rather, itโ€™s a funnel tool that gives you all the necessary elements for your marketing funnels in one place.

Itโ€™s the perfect solution for entrepreneurs who sell a course or consulting service online and want to have landing pages, email nurtures, and payment solutions all in one.

ClickFunnels provides onboarding videos that make it very easy for you to get started. The templates, plugins, page designs, and form creation are all very easy to use.

However, according to this thereโ€™s also a somewhat higher price of the tool. If you want to use all features without restrictions, you have to pay the most expensive rate.

In addition, the CF community repeatedly reports outages that can last up to several hours.

Other renowned landing page builders are:

  • Instapage
  • HubSpot
  • ShortStack
  • Ucraft

Every platform has strengths and weaknesses. Therefore, creating your landing page depends on your personal goals and needs. Apart from numerous software, there are other ways to create a landing page.

Why Should I Build My Landing Page With WordPress?

Besides all these landing page builders, you can of course also use the well-known CMS WordPress.

WordPress accounts for more than 43% of all websites on the Internet and yet many people donโ€™t know that they can easily create landing pages with it.

There are numerous advantages when you create your landing page directly in WordPress.

One of the main features of WordPress is the ease of deployment, updating, and maintenance of any page.

Also, you can design and customize any part of your website from scratch. This gives you far more control over the entire site.

You can create the landing page using the same tools you used for the rest of the site. This saves you time because you donโ€™t have to learn how to use an external page builder.

Besides saving you time, it also saves you money because you donโ€™t pay extra rates for using a page builder. To create landing pages with WordPress you need (free) plugins, themes, or good knowledge of the Gutenberg Block Editor.

WordPress Landing Page With Plugin

WordPress themes are great to create landing pages, but itโ€™s just as easy to create a WordPress landing page with a plugin.

There are both free and premium plugins for this purpose. They all work more or less the same. Usually, they provide a collection of templates for different purposes of your landing page.

After installation and activation, you can manage page customization through the pluginโ€™s settings page.

Some plugins allow third-party extensions that let you further customize and add new features to your landing page using hooks, filters, and actions.

Among our favorites, WordPress plugins for landing pages are:

  • Thrive Landing Pages
  • Optimize Press
  • Parallax Gravity Landing Pages

But WP Bakery page builder, Beaver Builder or Elementor are also popular plugins for creating a landing page in WordPress.

How to Make Your WordPress Landing Page More Appealing

Since there are no definite rules on what a good landing page should look like, itโ€™s not that easy to create an appealing page.

Weโ€™ve seen a lot, so we can speak from experience when we tell you the key aspects of landing page design:

  • A powerful call-to-action (CTA)

Your CTA is one of the most important parts of the landing page. CTAs guide your audience and tell them how to take the next step. The call to action is critical to conversion.

Be specific with your CTA and let visitors know exactly what their they should do.

  • Simplicity

Your landing page is a place where simplicity is recommended. The goal of a landing page is to get your audience to take action.

However, if the landing page is too complicated and confusing, visitors will be distracted and leave frustrated or confused.

  • Appealing headlines

The headline is the first thing users see. It arouses interest and makes visitors want to learn more and stay on the website.

The headline impacts whether your target audience feels addressed and wants to know more about the topic or bounces immediately.

  • Visual elements

No one wants to see a landing page that consists entirely of text. Too much text is off-putting, complicated, and time-consuming to get through.

Visual elements help to break up the written content. They attract the attention of your target audience and arouse their interest in the content of the landing page.

No matter which option you finally choose in landing page creation, you should be able to use it to create the perfect landing page for optimal lead conversion.

Do you want to learn more? With GREYD you can actively experience the future of WordPress โ€“ and benefit from that in the long run.
