This is where developers, designers, and hackers solve open-source problems in real-time.

As we recently announced on LinkedIn, we’re excited that we’re sponsoring the CloudFest Hackathon.

We believe it’s paramount that any company basing on Open Source software, gives back to the community in any way they can. And we’re proud that as sponsors of the CloudFest Hackathon we line up with companies we greatly admire, such as Automattic, Codable, Elementor, Group One, Inpsyde, BotGuard, Ionos, and Intel®.

Accessibility in frameworks

Last year we were at CloudFest as visitors. We had heard of the Hackathon, but were not that deep into events as these. Our focus is primarily on WordPress.

Anne-Mieke Bovelett, who guides us as an external contractor in making Greyd.Suite accessibility-ready, told us she had applied for the Hackathon. The project she proposed provides developers using frameworks with a central source of information about the accessibility-readiness of the frameworks they use.

Specifically for developers who depend on the use of frameworks and specific libraries, this project intends to optimize access to information about creating accessible software, apps and websites. In a way that makes sense to a developer.

Seasoned hackathon participants in our midst

Our CTO, Jakob Trost, will join the Hackathon for the first time. Needless to say, it’s a unique situation that with Jessica Lyschik, we have another seasoned hackathon participant in our midst. At WordPress Day, on March 18, our CEO Mark Weisbrod will be present as well. If you would like to meet with any of them that Monday or in the preceding days, don’t hesitate to contact us, or to get in touch with them directly via LinkedIn.
